Feng Zhang, an investigator at the McGovern Institute for Brain Research at MIT, a core member of the Broad Institute and assistant professor in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, is one of 15 researchers to be named a 2012 Searle Scholar.
The Searle Scholars Program supports outstanding individuals in junior faculty positions who have, in the words of the selection committee, “demonstrated innovative research with the potential for making significant contributions to chemical and biological research over an extended period of time.”
Zhang, who designs new molecular tools to manipulate the living brain, will be awarded $300,000 to support his work over the next three years.
