SAP Innovation Center joins the MIT Forum Manufacturing Technology Advisory Board

Leslie Sheppard, chief strategy officer of the MIT Forum for Supply Chain Innovation, today announced that the SAP Innovation Center has become a strategic sponsor of the MIT Forum for Supply Chain Innovation and SAP's managing director and senior vice president has joined the Forum’s Manufacturing Technology Advisory Board.

Advisory board to help manufacturers with technology transformation

In June 2012, the MIT Forum for Supply Chain Innovation announced the formation of the Manufacturing Technology Advisory Board in response to feedback from its members. It has recently launched a manufacturing technology study to understand the state of technology in the manufacturing industry and transformation challenges and innovation opportunities manufacturers are trying to address.

MIT Professor David Simchi-Levi, founder of the Forum stated, “Our members requested that the Forum provide guidance and thought leadership on technology-led transformation; the SAP Innovation Center brings invaluable expertise and guidance to the Forum and the board. It is organizations like SAP that will help increase the efficacy of the board to enable innovation, efficiency and sustainable business growth within the manufacturing community.”

Cafer Tosun, managing director and senior vice president of the SAP Innovation Center, stated, “There is tremendous opportunity for transformation and innovation in the manufacturing industry. I look forward to working with the MIT Forum and the Manufacturing Technology Advisory Board to help shape the future of supply chain innovations.”

Simchi-Levi added, “We welcome Cafer Tosun to the board and thank him and SAP for their continued support of the Forum.”
