IDEAS Competition and Global Challenge poster and judging session
April 22, 2011
The IDEAS Competition and the MIT Global Challenge will culminate next week with student teams presenting their ideas for projects addressing development issues around the world. This year’s proposals focus on solutions in a variety of areas, including agriculture, medicine, education, energy, water resources and transportation. Entries will be judged on their innovation, feasibility and community impact, and winning teams will receive seed funds to implement their project.
The IDEAS Competition will present up to 10 awards ranging from $5,000 to $10,000. The Global Challenge, a special initiative for this year’s MIT150 celebrations, will present up to seven awards of $10,000 judged by a global online panel, and up to five “community choice” awards of $5,000 judged online by the public.
The poster and judging session for the IDEAS Competition will take place on Monday, Apr. 25, at 6:30 p.m. in Lobby 10. It is open to the public. An awards ceremony will follow on May 2.
Voting for the Community Choice Awards will also close today. For more information or to vote, visit http://globalchallenge.mit.edu/teams.
