Terrascope freshmen present plan to reduce global diversity loss
November 30, 2011
Freshmen in the Terrascope subject Mission 2015 (also known as "Solving Complex Problems") have spent the fall semester studying the problem of what to do about disappearing global biodiversity.
Taught by Sam Bowring, the Robert R. Shrock Professor of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences, the students have worked in small teams and utilized a variety of resources — including MIT alumni and upperclassmen who've been through the class in previous semesters — to develop a comprehensive plan to address this very complicated problem. They will present their plan on Wednesday, Nov. 30, from 7-10 p.m. in 32-123.
