Seasonal Honors Jill Ker Conway, visiting professor in the Program in Science, Technology and Society, was MITŐs main commencement celebrity this year. She received honorary degrees and gave the commencement address at Keene State College in New Hampshire and at Elms College in Chicopee. She also gave the address at Sarah Lawrence College. Professor Sheila Widnall had a busy weekend in late May when she received honorary degrees at the Illinois Institute of Technolgy on Saturday and at Mount Holyoke College on Sunday. Professor Emeritus Joseph Weizenbaum received an honorary degree from Daniel Webster College in New Hampshire and Dean Lester C. Thurow received an honorary degree and delivered the commencement address at Bentley College.
