At Tanglewood
Begin Again Again..., a 30-minute work for cello and live computer 
electronics by Professor Tod Machover, will have its world premiere 
Thursday, Aug. 15, at Tanglewood, with Yo-Yo Ma as soloist.
Professor Machover, a member of the media arts and science faculty, 
composed the work especially for Mr. Ma. It makes use of two 
different cellos-a normal acoustic instrument and an 
electroacoustic cello. Both are equipped with electronics designed in 
the Media Lab to allow computer monitoring and interpretation of 
subtle nuances of musical phrasing and sound color.
