SPIN, the Sponsored Programs Information Network, is available at MIT
through the Office of Sponsored Programs.
SPIN is a computerized database of funding opportunities including
federal and nonfederal agencies, philanthropic organizations and
foundations, voluntary health organizations and corporations. The
database can help members of the community find external support for
research, development and education projects as well as funding for
fellowships, sabbaticals, publications and travel.
The Research Foundation of the State of New York developed and maintains
the database.
FEDIX is the Federal Information Exchange with on-line database
information on the Department of Energy, the Office of Naval Research
and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
FEDIX offers universities and other research groups access to the latest
information on research and educational programs free of charge. Any
microcomputer with communications software and a modem can access the
system.
Any member of the research community seeking information about potential
sponsors through a SPIN search, or information from FEDIX, may call
Diane J. Eisenhaur, x3-2921.
