Policies

Saving Files on NMC Machines

Place your files in a folder named with your Kerberos ID.

Note: The machines in the NMC have a limited amount of disk space. We ask that you be considerate to other users and not leave large video projects on the machines for more than two weeks.

Files that have not been modified for two weeks or longer may be deleted.

No Food or Drink

Hardware is expensive. Thank you for understanding.

New Media Centers Consortium

MIT became a member of the New Media Centers Consortium in the Spring of 1997. The Consortium is a non-profit organization which runs a collaborative network of corporations and institutions of higher learning for the purpose of integrating new media into education. Membership in the New Media Centers Consortium means that MIT is able to:

provide microcomputer-based multimedia development stations for use by students and faculty for academic work
share expertise and experiences in multimedia creation with other member universities
receive training and advance information on commercial products from participating vendors
