Norvins on the Web

Norvins on the Web

Okay, I admit it; I'm obsessed with my own first name, which I share with my father, my grandfather, and a skeet shooting trophy (long story). Here are some other Norvins...

  • "Caramel Cove becomes deserted when Norvin, a boy who resembles a shark, pretends to be one. Then a female shark in love appears and thinks Norvin is her type..." ("The Great White Man-Eating Shark", by Margaret Mahy: emphasis mine) I'm not sure impressionable children should be exposed to this. Harrumph.

  • Another benicknamed Norvin is Norvin R. "Jake" Cooley, who can help provide you with behavioral health.
  • The International Quality Management Association considers Norvin A. Croy "splendidly-named". I agree wholeheartedly.
  • Robert J. Hocken is the Norvin Kennedy Dickerson Jr. Distinguished Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. And indeed, what professor could fail to become more distinguished by adding "Norvin" to his name? I ask you.
  • Speaking of distinguished professors, my dad, ethics, is a professor of Philosophy at the University of Alabama, and a very distinguished one, too.
  • Norvin A. Klontz is a Distinguished Engineering Alumnus of North Carolina State University.

  • Norvin B. Weaver, on the other hand, is known to have been born in 1891 and to have died in 1956, but no one knows the maiden name of his wife Agnes. We Norvins are a mysterious bunch.
  • Norvin Shuster apparently just bought a new car, and looks great in infrared.
  • Someone named either Norwin or Norvin Meneses either did or absolutely did not sell cocaine for the CIA in Los Angeles in the 80's, depending on who you ask.
  • By and large, Norvins are apparently great guys.
  • Here's the only airplane named Norvin that I know of.
  • There are also motorcycles named Norvin, one variety of which is the Norvin Black Shadow...Vroom!
  • The Rue Norvins is a little avenue in Paris which goes past Salvador Dali square (hmmm...) to Montmartre. Oh, and Joseph Nechvatal, computer-assisted poet extraordinaire, lives there.
  • There's also a Norvin Way in Grass Valley, CA, which is where Holiday Compadre lives. Holiday Compadre is a horse, by the way, and as far as I know is uninterested in computer-assisted poetry. Thus, we see that Norvin Way and the Rue Norvins (q.v.) are different in many respects.
