Baxter Peak, 5200 feet

Soon after we finished the worst of the rock scrambling, we made it to Baxter Peak. We didn't savor the moment too long, though, since we had to make it back to the campground by nightfall, and we were slowly learning that we weren't as fast as our guidebook wanted us to be. So we took a few pictures, savored the panomaric views, and then began our hike home (back to our Lean-To).

The picture below shows a few brave hikers who were hiking the Knife Edge trail. Seems very dangerous.

The pond in the picture below is Chimney Pond, where we spent Friday night. Directly above the pond is the camp site where we stayed (you can see the Ranger Station in the picture). Now we had to turn around hike back to down to the pond below.

Now it was time to begin down the Saddle Trail to make our way back to Chimney Pond.
