Annular Fuel Test Rig
Irradiated in 2004
- Internally and externally cooled annular fuel evaluated for ability to increase power density with better safety margins than current fuel.
- Evaluated ability to achieve high reactivity-limited burn-up in order to prove reasonably long refueling cycle.
- Two fuel samples irradiated for three months.
- Post-Irradiation Examination scheduled for Summer 2005.
