NSE students honored by Collegiate Coaches Rowing Association

Women's Lightweight Eight

NSE's Lauren Ayers '12 and Elizabeth Wei '12 are among eleven MIT women rowers named National Scholar Athletes for 2012 by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA).

Ayers and Wei are members of the MIT women's lightweight rowing team. Four other members of the lightweight team and five members of the openweight squad were also recognized. Ayers has now won this award twice and Wei, three times.

Last May Ayers and Wei were members of the MIT lightweight Varsity 8 team which won the bronze medal at the prestigious Dad Vail Regatta, the largest collegiate regatta in the country. Also this summer Ayers was a member of the Cambridge Riverside Boat Club intermediate lightweight quad team which won the Club National competition in New Jersey.
