What were your interests in high school?
In high school I was interested in volleyball and volunteering at a horse rehabilitation farm. Academically, I really enjoyed Chemistry and Spanish!

What is your favorite activity outside of the classroom?
I love watching Red Wings games, riding my bike, playing volleyball and reading books.

Why did you decide to major in course 22?
I actually found my career-search website username and password one day and decided to go browse some jobs that looked interesting. I came across nuclear engineering and thought “wow, that sounds cool.” I read a ton about it and loved all of its real world applications; from medical uses to military uses and alternative energy uses, it seems there’s almost nothing nuclear engineering can’t solve.

What is you most memorable experience so far as a course 22 student?
The most memorable thing that I’ve done so far in Course 22 is operate the control rods of the MIT nuclear reactor in 22.01. It was awesome!!!

What would you like to do after graduating?
I am a firm believer in using nuclear energy as an alternative to wind energy, solar energy, oil, and gas. So, I’m considering going into something concerning nuclear power plant safety, how to make nuclear energy more efficient, or the establishment of more nuclear power plants within the U.S.. With Course 22, the possibilities are endless!
