Rasheed is one of three NSE undergraduates participating in SuperUROP in AY2015–16. "The nuclear industry is plagued by CRUD (Chalk River Unidentified Deposits) buildup on the interior of reactors. I will use atomic force microscopy to measure the strength of the CRUD-clad bond with different materials. My SuperUROP will shed light on mysterious CRUD growth in nuclear reactors," says Rasheed about his project.
