Once upon a time, I lived in Milpitas, CA which is a suburb of San Jose, and I went to an all girls high school in downtown San Jose. Yeah, that right. All girls Catholic schoolgirl. We had preppy little uniforms and everything. I promised myself I'd have a normal college experience after four years of an all girls school. I got MIT instead. But there are advantages to an all girls school. The uniforms can come it handy. For one, you can roll out of bed and pick up the same shirt and skirt you wore the day before from off the ground and no one can say anything. Second, they come in handy for Halloween costumes.
I'm a junior mechanical engineering major at MIT, living on Conner 3 of Burton Conner. We usually have a pretty good time staying up late watching movies, playing board games, and throwing tennis balls around. Just about every Saturday some group of us goes to the Pour House for 1/2 price burgers. I also play on the women's varsity hockey team. After graduation, I plan to go to grad school in biomedical engineering or robotics, and then hopefully get a real job. My academic interests include design, control, robotics, and biomedical applications.
I love watching to football, especially the 49ers, the West Wing, Sports Night, American Idol, and Alias. Being in Boston, I've also become a Sox fan. I listen mostly to alternative rock, but I'm pretty much open to whatever music is out there. If you haven't figured out already, I love playing sports, especially volleyball and soccer. I love meeting people from all over the country. The difference in cultures even within the US is just awesome to observe. I wish I could travel more. My favorite foods are Chinese and Mexican and Jamba Juice smoothies.
