Cross Roads Mission
Cross Roads Mission is a Christ centered organization that offers a variety of services to the community including several shelters for homeless or abused men and women. Cross Roads provides:
  • A bilingual bible church
  • Food boxes for families
  • Women and children shelter
  • Counseling for families in crisis
  • Counseling for abused women and children
  • Health classes
  • Parenting classes
  • Educational learning center with ESL, SSL, and GED classes
All services are provided free of charge to the public. Anybody in crisis can come and stay at the shelter for 3 days, at which point they must decided whether or not to join the program. ID is required; without ID people can only stay for 24 hours. There is a prenatal program for pregnant women over 18. Women under 18 are referred to Child Protective Services. Cross Roads also receives many donations of clothing, linens, car seats, and more; people can stop by anytime to receive these. Clothing and food are provided as part of the shelter program. Housing Authority
Nogales Housing Authority offers a public housing program for income eligible applicants. Through this program people can find affordable housing with rent that is charged on a sliding scale at 30% of income. Utility credits are also available. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm are intake days when anybody can come in and apply. Applicants must bring a birth certificate, social security number, proof of income, and a marriage or divorce license (if applicable). Due to high demand applicants may be put on a waitlist.
