Head Start

Head Start is a federally funded daycare and preschool for low-income families. Early Head Start serves women from pregnancy until the child is three years old. Afterward there is a preschool for children of three to four years of age. Among the services that Head Start offers are speech therapy, home visits once a week, transportation, and other resources. All services are free for eligible applicants. To obtain services one must make an appointment and bring last year’s taxes or a notarized letter with income information. There may be a waiting list.

Imagination and Knowledge

Imagination and Knowledge is a preschool for children of ages three and a half to five. Sessions are held five days a week from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The cost is $180 monthly, and it is not a DES preschool.

Mexicayotl Academy
|
|
Mexicayotl has a preschool for children four years of age. Parent must bring a proof of residency, birth certificate of the child, Social Security Card, immunization record, and driver’s license to enroll their child. It is a DES preschool so the DES will help eligible parents pay the costs.
Full Day (8 am to 2:30 pm): $300 monthly Half Day (8 am to 11 am): $150 monthly

Small Steps Child Care

Small Steps Child Care is a daycare and preschool for children between ages two and ten. During the summer months they only offer daycare from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. During the school year they offer daycare, as well as a preschool program for three and four year olds, and an after school program for children kinder to 4th grade. It is a DES preschool so the DES will help eligible parents pay the costs.

Sonshine Christian Preschool

Sonshine Christian Preschool offers preschool for children ages three to four (must be potty trained) and an after-school program for children up to ten years of age. Preschool is held from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and the after-school program is from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. It is a DES preschool so the DES will help eligible parents pay the costs.

St. Andrew’s offers preschool for children ages four to five, and childcare for children ages two to five. Preschool is held from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm, and childcare is from 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm; parents can bring their children in 3, 4, or 5 days a week. It is a DES preschool so the DES will help eligible parents pay the costs.

Sunshine Preschool Ranch

Sunshine Preschool Ranch is a private preschool for children ages two to four. There is a morning session from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and an afternoon session from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm, and the students can attend two, three, or four times a week. Extended hours are offered for working parents. The school is located on a ranch, so the children will have a lot of contact with animals, and Christian values are taught and encouraged. No transportation or lunches are provided. The DES does not help with the cost.
$75 registration fee

Wonder Years offers childcare for children ages two to three, and preschool for children ages two to five. Preschool is held from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, and childcare is anytime of the day. It is a DES preschool so the DES will help eligible parents pay the costs.
