Internationals International Fellowships are awarded for full-time study or research to women who are not United States citizens or permanent residents. Both graduate and postgraduate study at accredited institutions are supported. The Foundation also awards several annual Home Country Project Grants ($5,000 to $7,000 each) to women who received AAUW Educational Foundation International Fellowships between 2001 and 2005. These grants support community-based projects designed to improve the lives of women and girls in the fellow's home country.

Internationals Individual fellowship grants to artists, scholars, students, and specialists from Asia for study, research, travel and creative work in the United States.

Internationals The fellowship is an outright non-renewable grant of up to $45,000. The stipend of $15,000 is to cover living and travel expenses. In addition, the Foundation pays up to $30,000 for tuition and health insurance at a U.S. university. Fellows are expected to stay in the U.S.A. for a full academic year (nine months). Students who have means of their own to finance their studies in the U.S.A. may apply for an Honorary Fellowship of the Foundation. Applicant must be Belgian citizen; submit an application not earlier than in the last year of an academic Master program or second cycle of university studies and not later than four years after obtaining that degree. The academic master degree must be obtained from a Belgian institution recognized as a university by either the "Vlaams Ministerie van Onderwijs en Vorming" or the "Administration Générale de l'Enseignement et de la Recherche Scientifique"; have an outstanding academic record;
have a good command of the English language.

Internationals The Edmund S. Muskie Ph.D. Fellowship Program selects outstanding citizens from Eurasia to receive scholarships for Master's level study and professional development in the United States in the fields of business administration, economics, education, environmental management and policy, international affairs, law, library and information science, journalism and mass communications, public administration, public health, and public policy. Fellowships are awarded to young and mid-career individuals who are citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, or Uzbekistan. The program is designed to foster democratization and the transition to market economies in Eurasia through intensive academic and professional training. Approximately 300 fellowships are awarded per year.

Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program

Internationals The International Fellowships Program provides support for up to three yearsr of formal graduate-level study leading to a masters or doctoral degree. Fellows are selected from countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and Russia, where the Ford Foundation maintains active overseas programs. Fellows may study in the US.

Internationals The Fulbright Foreign Student Program brings citizens of other countries to the United States for Master’s degree or Ph.D. study at U.S. universities or other appropriate institutions. The program has brought some of the world’s finest minds to U.S. campuses and offers program participants insight into U.S. society and values. Students must apply through the offices in their home country; see website for more information.

Iraqi Scholarship Initiative

Internationals An effort by the government of Iraq, under the direction of the executive director Dr. Zuhair Humadi of the Higher Committee for Education Development in Iraq (HCED), to imporve the situation of higher education in Iraq as well as to bring a new generation of thought and experience to the country. In order to achieve this goal, recipients of the scholarship will return to Iraq after receiving their degrees. Once the students have received the scholarship, they will apply to the universities which have agreed to accept students from the program.

Internationals To support the education of women from developing countries who are committed to improving the lives of women and children in a developing country. For students from developing countries who are currently studying in the United States or Canada, the MMMF awards annually about ten grants of approximately $11,000 each; grants are not renewable.

Internationals Applicant must be a non-US or Canadian citizen who is a woman working towards a graduate degree (full-time) at a college or university of her choice in the US or Canada. Applicant must submit a witnessed statement that upon completion of her degree program, she will return immediately to her own country to pursue her professional career.

Deadline: Mail eligibility form between August 15 and December 15. If eligibility is established, application material will be mailed from the IPS. Application materials due January 31.

InternationalsApplicant must be an international student attending a U.S. university with a GPA of 3.0 or better and maintaining full-time status. Applicant must submit a 1,000 word "Letter of Advice to a Friend in a Home Country" which if selected will be awarded one of ten $5,000 scholarships.

Internationals With funds MIT has received from the Total Corporation, MIT will be able to offer 3 fellowships ($60,000) to incoming international graduate students from Africa. Each fellowship will continue for the duration of the student's degree program up to a maximum of two years.

Fellowships will be awarded competitively to students whose interest can broadly be categorized as energy-related or social and economic development. Priority in selection is for candidates from the countries in which Total is active in Africa: Nigeria, Angola and South Africa. It is not restricted to citizens of those African countries, however just a preference. Students from other countries in Africa may be considered as resources allow.

The ODGE requests nominations from departments in February. An MIT committee will select the fellowship recipients from nominations submitted by department heads.
