Cross registration

Harvard University | Wellesley College

Harvard University
A regular, full-time graduate student at MIT may enroll to take subjects (exclusive of thesis) at Harvard without paying additional tuition, provided that this enrollment does not exceed one-half of his or her total registration for the term. This cooperative arrangement is not applicable to the summer session.

Requests for registration under this cooperative arrangement must be approved by the MIT department of registration and should be confined to subjects that are not offered at the student's own institution. Students will not be allowed to attend classes in which additional registrants put an undue load on the instructors. The procedures to be followed are available from the Registrar. Grades earned in Harvard subjects appear on the transcripts of MIT graduate students as the closest equivalent MIT grade.

Wellesley College
Graduate students may cross-register at Wellesley College during the fall and spring terms. Wellesley courses are not considered H-level subjects but may be accepted for graduate credit toward a student's degree with the approval of the department. The procedures to be followed are available from the Registrar.
