DeGraff & Ruggles: "A Creole Solution"

In last Saturday's New York Times Op-Ed, Professor Michel DeGraff and Molly Ruggles outlined a plan to leverage the power of Haitian Creole ("Kreyòl") as a tool for educational and socio-economic success in Haiti.

The interactive tools of the MIT-Haiti Initiative - which have been translated into Kreyòl - serve as proof of concept that Haiti's national language can fully serve the academic sector. In addition, Kreyòl is capable of supporting government discourse, all levels of business/commerce, and is a rich sap root from which can flower more literature and culture.
