2.4.1.10 Wind Gap

A wind gap is a shallow notch in the crest or upper part of a mountain ridge. At some point in time, the wind gap was likely a water gap. In general, the elevation of a wind gap is higher than that of a water gap. These formations are often found in trellis drainage patterns.
