3.2.2 Glacial Ice Contact Deposition

Ice-contact features form during glaciation where water action causes the accumulation of poorly sorted and poorly to somewhat stratified sand and gravel. These types of deposits include eskers, crevasse deposits, kames, and kame terraces. These features usually occur at the surface, but may become buried by later deposition. A kettle also forms as an ice contact feature.
