The Program Coordinator of SEED Academy in the Office of Engineering Outreach Programs (OEOP) in the School of Engineering at MIT will run the Saturday Engineering Enrichment and Discovery (SEED) Academy. SEED Academy is an academic-year Saturday enrichment program, focused on exposing Boston area high school students to science and engineering fields. Reporting to the Senior Manager of High School Programs, the Program Coordinator’s primary responsibility will be to coordinate all of the major aspects of SEED Academy, including staffing (undergraduate, graduate students, and professionals), program logistics, student recruitment and selection, and student/parent communications and engagement.

The Program Coordinator for the STEM Program in the Office of Engineering Outreach Programs (OEOP) in the School of Engineering at MIT will run the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Program. The STEM Program is a year-round academic enrichment opportunity provided free of charge to talented Boston area middle school students. The program includes a 5-week Summer Institute, 9-month Mentoring Program and Parent Seminars. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Coordinator’s primary responsibility will be to coordinate all of the major aspects of the STEM Program, including staffing (undergraduate teaching staff and mentors), program logistics, student recruitment and selection, and student/parent communications and engagement. The goal of OEOP is to provide traditionally underserved students with multiple entry points to academic and professional careers in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines.

This summer, we are running six programs for middle and high school students, which require staff from a variety of backgrounds. While each position has different requirements, we're excited to receive applications from current undergraduate and graduate college students as well as experienced professionals. Candidates with backgrounds in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) subjects and/or education are strongly preferred.
