The role of the Dean for Undergraduate Education is to support and enhance integrated student learning both inside and outside the classroom. This encompasses student-focused as well as faculty-focused educational initiatives throughout the Institute. These initiatives include partnering with faculty in developing and coordinating the undergraduate curriculum, promoting and expanding global educational opportunities, encouraging hands-on experiential learning, helping students succeed through mentors, advisors and effective learning strategies, and increasing student diversity at all educational levels.
The following offices report through the Dean for Undergraduate Education: Admissions, Office of Educational Innovation and Technology, Office of Experiential Learning (including Concourse, the Edgerton Center and Terrascope), Office of Faculty Support, Office of Minority Education, MIT Careers Office (including Study Abroad), Registrar, ROTC, Student Financial Services, Teaching and Learning Laboratory, and Office of Undergraduate Advising and Academic Programming.
