The generous support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation provides start-up funds for an initial two-year period. The O.K.I. project is designed to evolve into an ongoing community effort. MIT and Stanford University are leading the initiative, and a number of key collaborator universities are contributing valuable resources to defining the O.K.I. architecture.
