Mailing Lists

In order to facilitate communication within the OLYMPUS Collaboration and its working groups mailing lists have been created using the Mailman - mailing list manager as implimented at MIT.

Members are encouraged to subscribe to the mailing lists which interest them. They can then post messages to the list and receive all subsequent messages posted to that list. They also have access, via the web, to the archived messages for that mailing list (thus, there is no need to keep personal copies of messages posted to the mailing list). Mailman has many features for tailoring how one personally sends, sees, and receives messages controlled by a password protected set of preferences.

One useful feature of the mailing list is that messages with attachments have the attachments "scrubbed". This means that the attachment is stored on the web server and the message is sent with a URL to the stored attachment. Users do not receive a mail message with attachments which potentially are too large for their mail server or which fill-up their mail folder possibly exceeding their available space. Users have the option of downloading the attachment and saving it or not. The attachment is of course always available via the URL in the mail message.

Subscribing, viewing archives, etc. can be performed through the links for the following available mailing lists:

Subscription to the mailing list must be approved by the list owner. In case of problems contact:
