To run the examples supplied as source code, first do:

source /mit/opendx_v4.4/envset

after attaching the opendx_v4.4 locker to set required environment variables; 
then, copy the distrib/sun4x_510/samples or distrib/i386_rhel4/samples to
a location where you have write permission, cd to the desired directory an
run make with the appropriate makefile, i.e. like:

cd /var/tmp/alexp/samples/callmodule
make

or 

cd /var/tmp/alexp/samples/dxlink
make -f Makefile_solaris (on a Sun)

Note that not all the demos will work- some require additional actions or may
be broken.
