The project notebook is an on-line archive of documents related to specific I/T development projects. As a project document is completed, a developer can add it to the project notebook.
The project notebook is thus a first-line source of information about ongoing and completed I/T projects--methodology, status, deliverables, ongoing activities, and history.
As project notebooks grow, they will form a warehouse of I/T methodologies used successfully at MIT. A developer can get a head start on fulfilling one of a project's methodological requirements by copying and modifying an existing document in the project notebook. If nothing in the project notebook seems to fit, its documents can at least serve as a takeoff point for a new document.
