Some Mathematical Models of Cancer Treatment

Lawrence M. Wein
Professor of Management Science
Sloan School of Management, MIT

This talk will describe several (about five) mathematical problems concerning the analysis, design and/or control of traditional (chemotherapy, radiation, surgery) and novel (gene therapy, angiogenesis inhibitors) cancer therapies. We will omit the mathematical details, and instead focus on the biological aspects of the model formulations and the insights from our analyses.
