Steve Wright

Steve Wright is a Senior Computer Scientist at Argonne National Laboratory, where he has been employed since 1990, and Professor of Computer Science at the University of Chicago. He received a Ph.D. from the University of Queensland (Australia) in 1984. He has been Chair of the Executive Committee of the Mathematical Programming Society since 1995. He currently serves on the editorial boards of Mathematical Programming Series A, the SIAM/MPS Series in Optimization, the SIAM Journal of Optimization, the SIAM Journal of Scientific Computing. He is the author of recent texts on interior-point methods and (with J. Nocedal) on numerical optimization. His current research interests are in nonlinear programming, stochastic programming, optimization software, and solution of optimization problems on computational grids.
