Emerging internet auction mechanisms for freight
transportation capacity may provide carriers with an excellent mechanism for
freight revenue management. However, carriers engaged in auctions are faced
with the difficult problem of determining 'reservation prices' for future
freight capacity. This talk will review this problem and some possible
approaches to its solution.
