Professor Duncan Simester

 

 

 

Duncan Simester is Associate Professor of Management Science at M.I.T.'s Sloan School of Management. Prior to joining M.I.T. he taught at the University of Chicago. He holds a Ph.D. in Management Science from MIT. He also has a law degree as well as graduate and undergraduate degrees in commerce from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He has published widely and has won several awards for his research. He is on the Editorial Board of Marketing Science and is an Area Editor at Management Science.

Professional Interests:
The use of data and economic models to investigate retail pricing strategies, employee incentives and various Industrial Organization topics. The use of operations research techniques to investigate marketing topics, including the optimal design of experiments and distribution and design strategies for mail order catalogs.
