BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

 

 

Professor Robert Weismantel

 

 

Dr. Robert Weismantel received his doctoral degree from the TU Berlin in 1995.  He was awarded the Gerhard Hess-Prize of the German Science Foundation research grant in 1997 totaling 1,000,000DM for five years.  In 1998, he became Chair Professor for Discrete Optimization, University of Magdeburg, and Chair Professor for Discrete Mathematics, University of Trier.  Since 1998, Dr. Weismantel has been Professor at the University of Magdeburg.

 

Dr. Weismantel’s research interests are integer programming, combinatorial optimization, and algorithmic theory of numbers.
