BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

 

 

Professor Costis Maglaras

 

 

Costis Maglaras received his BS in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College, London and his Masters and PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. Since 1998 he has been an Assistant Professor in the Decision, Risk, and Operations Division, at the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University. He has received several awards including the 1999 INFORMS Nicholson prize for best student paper in operations research and management science. His research interests lie in the areas of stochastic modeling, and in particular in the field of revenue management and control of stochastic processing networks. He teaches MBA-level courses in Managerial Statistics and IT and Operations Strategy, as well as PhD seminars in a variety of topics. He serves as an Associate Editor for Operations Research.
