BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

 

 

Dr. Maxim Svirdenko

 

 

Maxim Sviridenko is currently a research staff member at the T.J. Watson Research Center, IBM. He received his PhD in Mathematics from Sobolev Institute of Mathematics and Novosibirsk State University. He was a postdoc at the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration, University of British Columbia for four months and a postdoc at the Computer Science Department, Aarhus University for one year. He was also a post-doc for one year at IBM Research, before becoming a research staff member.

 

His research interests include design and analysis of algorithms for discrete optimization problems in particular for scheduling, routing, network and facility location problems. He is also interested in computational complexity, and on-line, approximation and randomized algorithms.
