Analyzing Systems of Dependent Components

ABSTRACT



We consider binary systems of dependent binary components and present efficient simulation procedures for estimating the probability the system works. Methods of obtaining bounds on this probability based on partial information concerning the probabilities of intersections of minimal path sets will also be discussed.   Particular emphasis will be given to systems in which the components are conditionally independent given the value of an environmental parameter.
