ABSTRACT

Reflected diffusions arise as so-called heavy traffic approximatons of queueing networks. Consequently the large deviations of reflected diffusions provides insight into buffer overlow probabilities in networks. In this talk we will discuss the problems involved in the calculation of tail probablities of stationary reflected Brownian motion and then describe a new prerspective that allows us to overcome many of these problems.
