BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
Kavita Ramanan received her Bachelors of
Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, her PhD in Applied
Mathematics from Brown University, and pursued her postdoctoral studies at
the Technion, Israel. After gaining valuable experience doing industrial research
at the Mathematical Sciences Research Center at Bell Laboratories, she has
moved back to academia, as a member of the Department of Mathematical Sciences
in Carnegie Mellon University. Her research interests lie in the areas of
probability theory, stochastic processes, operations research, dynamical
systems, and their applications.
