BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

 

 

Professor Gérard Cachon

                                   

 

Professor Cachon’s research focus is in supply chain management.  In particular he explores the use of information sharing to improve supply chain inventory management and the application of novel incentive schemes to enhance supply chain coordination. 

 

His articles have appeared in Harvard Business Review, Management Science, Manufacturing and Service Operations Management and Operations Research.  He is a member of a number of editorial review boards.

 

He has consulted with a wide range of companies on supply chain management.   They include Ahold, Americold, Campbell Soup, IBM, Medtronic and O’Neill Inc.

 

He teaches the Supply Chain Core MBA course, an MBA elective on the Marketing and Operations Interface and the introductory Ph.D. course in operations management. Professor Cachon was on the faculty at the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University before joining the Wharton School in July 2000 .  He received his Ph.D. from The Wharton School in 1995.
