Rekha Thomas is an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics
at the University of Washington in Seattle. She is currently visiting
the ORC on a sabbatical leave. She received her Ph.D. in 1994 from
the School of Operations Research at Cornell University under the
supervision of Bernd Sturmfels. Her interests lie at the intersection
of problems in optimization and algebra.
