Jan Vondrak obtained his Ph.D. in applied mathematics from MIT in 2005, and a Ph.D. in computer science from Charles University in Prague in 2007. After postdoctoral positions at Microsoft Redmond (2005-06) and Princeton University (2006-09), he has been a research staff member in the theory group at IBM Almaden since 2009.
