Nicoleta Serban is a Coca Cola Associate Professor in the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology. She received her Ph.D. and M.S. in Statistics from Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Serban's current research crosses multiple disciplines including methodological statistics, healthcare and industrial engineering. Her research has been published or accepted in more than 35 journal articles, many in top journals in statistics, engineering, and health services research. She has also co-authored a book on the complexity of the healthcare system and she has initiated the Health Analytics Group at Georgia Tech (healthanalytics.gatech.edu). Dr. Serban is currently an Editor of Annals of Applied Statistics, a leading journal in applied statistics. She has been invited to serve in several workshops and two frontiers of engineering symposiums organized by the National Academy of Engineering. Her research has been funded by the National Science Foundation and through multiple healthcare-focused grants from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Centers of Disease Prevention and Control among others.
