Freshmen Orientation is an MIT program provided to incoming students. The Institute expects you to participate in these activities. All of the events have been designed to introduce you to MIT, its resources and to have you academically advised and registered for the fall term.
We hope this information is helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact our office with your questions as the spring and summer progresses.
Important Note: You should receive the Orientation mailing by mid-May or soon after. This mailing contains important information, including you MIT ID # and instructions on how to create your MIT Kerberos Identity (e.g. MIT email address). You will need this information in order to submit FPOP applications, advising preferences, etc. and to enter the MIT Housing Lottery and the HASS-D Lottery.
If you have any questions regarding Orientation, please do not hesitate to visit the Orientation blog, email the Orientation staff at orientation-www@mit.edu or call 617-253-6772. Our office is open 9-5, Monday through Friday.
