Academic Integrity
At MIT there is no greater expectation than that all members of the community maintain the highest level of academic integrity. The Academic Integrity Handbook is available for all members of the community to help them navigate the intellectual waters. Besides articulating a zero tolerance policy for any form of academic misconduct, the Handbook gives faculty the opportunity to articulate and enforce their own standards. This means that if your professor articulates a standard higher than in the handbook or simply differs from the handbook that you are responsible for both standards, and if they contradict those of the professor govern. If you violate those standards your professor may take any informal action she deems necessary to resolve this directly with you and/or initiate formal discipline action with OSC in the form of a letter to file or a complaint to the COD.
