Subawards

A subaward is an award made under an award by a recipient to an eligible subrecipient . . .The term includes financial assistance . . . but does not include the procurement of goods and services. The difference between subaward and vendor relationships is described at the OSP Website.

The subrecipient carries out a portion of the recipient's project. Performance is measured against project objectives. The subrecipient is responsible for decision-making within the delegated statement of work.

All necessary subawards should be budgeted in the proposal.

Subrecipient must submit a full proposal to MIT, which will be included in MIT's proposal submission.
The Subrecipient proposal must be signed by an authorized official of the Subrecipient.
The DLC must evaluate the reasonableness of the subawardee's cost proposal and complete a Subaward Checklist Form to be internally routed with the completed proposal.
