Statement of Work

The Statement of Work is one of the most important elements of an export control evaluation because it is the most succinct summary of the elements of the research project, including the anticipated results and the intended deliverables.  Keep in mind that often administrators have only the Statement of Work to refer to when they try to spot export control issues.  Including the following elements in the Statement of Work would help the administrators in their evaluation of export control issues:

· Provide information regarding:

· Materials or equipment to be used

· Third-party information or technology

· Treatment of results and deliverables of the research

· Foreign collaboration or involvement
