The Mission of RAII Changes in the funding and regulatory environments have added complexity to the administration of research and have added significantly to the demands on faculty and staff in all areas and at all levels of the Institute's organization. The deployment of new Institute information systems with enhanced capabilities has increased the required skill level for many administrative positions. These changes have catalyzed us to take a careful look at our research administration practices, systems and organizational structure to be sure they are appropriate for this new environment. We have formed the Research Administration Improvement Initiative to create a framework for this review.
