These awards, presented twice per year, will allow at least two recipients to attend the NCURA Region I Spring Meeting and at least two recipients to the NCURA Annual Meeting in Washington , DC .
Region I Spring Meeting Travel Award:
Amount: $750 to help defray some of the costs associated with attending the meeting.

Annual Meeting Travel Award, Washington , DC :
Amount: $1,500 to help defray some of the costs associated with attending the meeting.
# of Awards: at least 2 awards will be given
Criteria
• Nominees must be research administrators from the Region I geographical area ( New England ).
• Nominees are not required to be members of NCURA at the time of the nomination.
• Self-nomination is encouraged.
Eligibility
Preference will be given to those fairly new to research administration and can show financial need.
Individuals who have received an award previously will be ineligible to receive another for 3 years from the date of the previous award.
Nominating/Selection Procedures
The Chair of the Awards Committee will be responsible issuing a call for nominations.
Awards are based on financial need and professional benefit to the nominee, and will be determined by the Awards Committee. Best efforts will be made to select and notify awardees at least 2 months prior to NCURA meetings.
A copy of the awardee's institutionally approved travel expense report and list of itemized expenses must be received by the Region I Treasurer, Bethanne Giehl, Assistant Director, Research Funding, University of Massachusetts Medical School, 55 Lake Avenue North, Room S1-859, Worcester, MA 01655. Upon receipt of the travel report, a check will be issued to the awardee's institution. Recipients are advised to make arrangements in advance with their institution to cover travel expenses until reimbursement by NCURA is received.
