NCURA Region I

Region I Outstanding Volunteer Award


This award, presented annually, will recognize a research administrator who has made a significant contribution volunteering their time to Region I NCURA.

Purpose and Criteria

The Outstanding Volunteer Award will be presented to an individual in order to recognize significant efforts with regard to volunteering to Region I.

The Awards Committee will consider candidates who have made contributions such as the following:

•  Served in the following capacities:

Registration Table Coordinator, Hospitality Coordinator, Session Facilitator, Workshop Faculty, Concurrent Session Faculty, Committee Member, Dinner Group Coordinator, Web Content Manager, and other volunteer efforts within Region I.

•  Served as a regional or national officer

•  Authored papers in a professional publication in the field of research administration

•  Has volunteered in several capacities within the region, or has excelled in one particular area or committee

Eligibility

Candidates should be a current member of NCURA Region I.

Nominating/Selection Procedures

The Chair of the Awards Committee will be responsible for issuing a call for nominations.

Nominations should be received in writing with the endorsement of two (2) Region I members, including one (1) who is external to the institution of the nominee. A nomination cover page must accompany the letter(s) of recommendation, a 300-500 word statement addressing the award criteria and describing the nominee's contributions to the region, the NCURA organization, and the profession, along with a curriculum vitae which outlines the contributions of the individual for Outstanding Volunteer recognition. Self-nominations are encouraged.

Awards are based on criteria listed above, and will be determined by the Awards Committee.

The Outstanding Volunteer Award will be presented at the Annual Spring Meeting.
