Research in the Peacock Lab focuses on experimental fluid and nonlinear dynamics. The cornerstone of the research is to develop a meticulously planned and executed laboratory experiment for each project. The experiment must capture the essence of an outstanding research problem, without undue complication, with the results supporting the development of enabling techniques and technologies for real-world engineering problems. Where appropriate, the latest experimental techniques are utilized and advanced. At present, experimental research program focuses on two topics: stratified flows and applications of dynamical systems theory to fluid flows.
